Becky Dell (SHE/HER) - Director

Becky teaches piano, singing and theory at her academy as well as being the founder and director of BDMA.

Classically trained as a percussionist at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music, Becky graduated straight into a role in the famous West End show STOMP! and worked as a free-lance professional musician before deciding to set up BDMA in 2012.

In her spare time, Becky acts as Musical Director for the successful Citizens of the World Choir, a choir of refugees and friends based in South East London. She was also nominated for and won an Amnesty International  Suffragette Sister Award, for her humanitarian campaigning and was named one of the Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs in the UK.

Francesco is our Blackheath Manager and a queer singer-songwriter (under the alias Heren Wolf) & session singer.

Since he was 6 years old, he trained as a ballet and contemporary dancer in Italy but after a serious injury he devoted himself to music. 

He moved to London in 2016 where he attained a Bachelor Degree in Songwriting and joined London Contemporary Voices and Citizens of the World choirs. He has performed with Stu Larsen, Ian Shaw, Basement Jaxx, Elena Tonra and more in some of London’s most prestigious venues.

With his own music he tries to raise awareness on political and social issues such as LGBTQIA+ and migrant rights, transfeminism, racism etc and writes wonderful cinematic, emotive music.

Jess Tomlinson (SHE/HER) - Book keeper and SAFEGUARDING OFFICER

Alongside her work at BDMA, Jess has an active freelance career as a clarinettist and saxophonist, performing with orchestras and pit bands nationwide and in Europe. Most recently, she has performed for the Thursford Musical Spectacular and has been guest principle clarinet for the Jersey Symphony Orchestra. 

Jess is a Live Music Now artist with her award-winning quintet Chameleon, with whom she enjoys a busy performance schedule. She is passionate about music-for-health-and-well-being and works with Lime: Music for Health, bringing music to the wards of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. She has recently begun her own research in this field and is looking forward to exploring this area further.

Katy comes from a wide background of performance and has trained from a young age in the flute and piano as well as dance and acting. Katy trained in Drama and Theatre Arts at Goldsmiths College followed by a Masters in Music Theatre at Central School of Speech and Drama. She then took her passions down a different route by going into Front of House and Box Office management in the West End and has frequented 5 different theatres while becoming a Box Office Manager. 

She is also a keen runner and ran the London Marathon in 2015. 

Everything changed again then for Katy as in October 2017 she and her husband had a baby girl Isabella, and she writes a fabulous blog about being a Mum, a runner and a performer which you can read HERE.

Meg Brookes (SHE/HER) - Creative Manager

Meg teaches piano, singing, cello and songwriting at BDMA and also does a few bits here and there as our Creative Manager.

Outside of BDMA Meg works as a professional musician, working with artists including Jools Holland, Laura Mvula, The Staves, Dermot Kennedy, Nitin Sawnhey, Charlotte Church, Marc Almond, Orlando Weeks  and many more on some of the UK's biggest stages as well as live on national TV (BBC, The One Show) and radio (BBC Radio 1, BBC London, Virgin).

Meg also works as a composer and songwriter. She has sung her own song with a 60 piece choir (London Contemporary Voices) at Queen Elizabeth Hall, performed multiple times on BBC Radio London and has even ended up in a circus at the Roundhouse, playing a flying piano!


Adrian Steele

We are proud to have a professional relationship with Adrian who has more than 30 years' experience tuning pianos. His rate is approximately £70 per tune.

Nicole studied a piano master's at Guildhall Conservatoire of Music and Drama and joined BDMA to be our fabulous accompanist for exams - get in contact with us if you need her services.
