Music fit for a Royal baby

So, what music does one play to welcome a Royal baby? After just watching the Changing of the Guard and seeing the Scots Guard Band play Congratulations to welcome the new born Prince to the world, I started thinking what music would be suitable to play for the little Prince.

Obviously I Just Can’t Wait To Be King must feature top of the list, as must Circle Of Life from the same Disney film. For a rock feel let’s visit Sweet Child Of Mine by Guns N’ Roses and Now I’m Here by Queen. For a classic baby love vibe, I would suggest Be My Baby by The Ronettes or Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder (yes, yes, I know, it’s a boy, take off the ‘s’ you pedants). If we want to have a nod to our rich musical English heritage, then I would suggest keeping an ear out for the newly composed Sleep On by Paul Mealor – the dude who wrote some of the music for Kate & Wills’ wedding – which was written for the new Royal arrival.

What would be on your Royal playlist for the new Prince and is it too early to send them my business card and ask to teach the new Prince music lessons when he’s older?!
