Home Recording

Recording is one of  music's biggest gifts and can be one of the most rewarding careers for a musician.

Being able to record at home is not only really useful it's also really fun!

You can play around, write your own music, hear your songs or compositions come to life or even just hear yourself play your pieces solo...

Let BDMA tutor Ben tell you what you might need to get you started...

Now that you have your mic - what's next? Well, a great start is to get your hands on some recording software.

There are a few options...

A good place to start is GARAGEBAND.

Garageband is a FREE app available on Apple products and is a great way to start getting your head around how to record all by yourself.

There are lots of things to learn when it comes to home recording but this app is a great place to start your jounrey.

If you've got your head around Garageband and want an upgrade it might be time for LOGIC X....

Logic has ALOT more options than Garageband but can take a little time to get your head round. The best piece of advice we can give you is - JUST TRY! Watch tutorials on YouTube and just try and record something and you will be on your way before you know it!
